Passover in Florida – Why a Travel Passover Vacation May Be Right for You

As many of you know, I travel a lot for work. It can be difficult, getting to and from airports, checking into and out of hotels, living out of a suitcase, rough hours, not always eating healthy. But you know what’s much easier? Traveling for pleasure. Ahhhhhhhh! A lot of the actions are similar – getting to and from airports, checking into the hotel, living with a limited wardrobe – but the resulting feelings and experiences are so different!

One of the best times to travel is Pesach. At that point of the year, spring is in the air, winter is firmly in the rearview mirror, and it’s the perfect time to relax. I’ve seen a few options so far for Pesach 2020, and here’s one that I love already: The PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach, Florida! Check it out!

Here are a few reasons that a travel Passover vacation may be right for you:

  1. A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SEE FAMILY. Do you have a large family? Do you routinely host seders for upwards of 30 people? Are you always scrambling at the last minute to find accommodations for the family members visiting from out of town? Do you get stressed cooking for a small army for seven days, with the crazy Pesach diet on top of everything? Yup, those all sound like me. Going to a travel Passover vacation is a good way to pick a location where everyone can come, but no one gets stuck with the responsibilities of playing the hosts. Even better, there’s plenty of space for everyone in their own rooms, not having to worry about pullout couches or air mattresses in every square inch of the downstairs.
  2. PLENTY OF ACTIVITIES. For me, the best kind of vacation is one where I don’t have to do anything. I just need a good book, a little white wine, some sunshine, and some peace and quiet. At this Florida hotel, I can sit by the beautiful pool, or even visit the spa. However! Some people like a more active vacation, so you can enjoy the golf courses, yoga studio, tennis courts, weight rooms, or lecture series. There’s childcare with separate activities for the kids, so they can have their fun, and you can have yours!
  3. FOOD! On Pesach, I’m usually happy with some matza and cottage cheese. That’s usually enough for me for a meal, but the family often demands a whole production of courses and salads and desserts (plural) and the whole shebang. Well, if you’re on this vacation, you don’t have to worry about food at all! The food is all glatt kosher, and there’s plenty of options, including the dining room, tearooms, early breakfast options, poolside barbecues, and more! My mouth is already watering (though I might just look for the matza and cottage cheese after all!)
